I have been preparing for the AZ-140 exam for some time now but I am still feeling a little confused about where to start and which topics to focus on. There is so much content available online that it gets overwhelming sometimes. I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction.
I have already tried a few things in my preparation. I started with Microsoft official resources and followed the Microsoft Learn structured path which covers AVD basics all the way to advanced configuration. It is free and very well organized for beginners. I also joined some certification forums where other students share their experiences and explain difficult topics in simple ways. Forums helped me understand that reading alone is not enough and hands on practice is very important. That is why I also tried the Microsoft AZ-140 Practice Test from Study4Exam and it was honestly very helpful for my preparation. The questions are in real exam style and practicing under time pressure really builds confidence. It also helps identify weak areas that need more attention.
Let me share three topics that I studied from the beginning and felt comfortable with. The first topic that made sense to me was Host Pool Configuration. Understanding the difference between pooled and personal host pools and knowing when to use each one became clear to me through Microsoft Learn. The second topic that I understood well was FSLogix Profile Management. It seemed confusing at first but after reading explanations from other students on forums the difference between Profile Container and Office Container became much clearer. The third topic that I felt good about was RBAC Roles in AVD. Learning which roles are used for which purpose and how to assign them properly was well explained in the official Microsoft documentation.
However there are still some areas where I am struggling. Networking concepts like RDP Shortpath and private endpoints and NSG rules are still a bit difficult for me to fully understand. MSIX App Attach is another topic where I do not feel very confident yet. The monitoring and diagnostics section is also something I have not completely covered.
Can anyone guide me on where to start with these remaining topics? Which resources would be most helpful? I would also love to hear from people who have already passed this exam so that beginners like me can get proper direction and know what to expect on exam day.
