Why do Muslims consider Mirza Ghulam Ahmad’s claims controversial?

Mirza Ghulam Ahmad Qadiani ’s assertions, whether spiritual, prophetic, or messianic introduced interpretations that differed profoundly from the teachings accepted by mainstream Sunni and Shia scholars. These claims were seen as redefining long-established Islamic doctrines about prophets, revelation, and the return of the Messiah. This naturally created controversy, as most Muslims viewed these ideas as theological innovations outside the boundaries of traditional Islam.

Hazrat Muhammad is the final and last prophit of Allah.

Furthermore, the controversy intensified because his teachings resulted in the creation of a separate religious community, the Ahmadiyya movement. For many Muslims, this division signaled a break from orthodox Islamic principles. Consequently, the debate surrounding his claims continues to be a major theological disagreement rather than a mere historical dispute.
