Laptop with a gift, but without Word

I received a laptop for my birthday, everything looks great - Windows is activated, programs are installed. But when I opened Word, it said that the version is only a trial version and asked to activate. I was sure that it was a full version, because Office looked like it was "ready to work". In Excel, the same story - everything works, but with constant warnings. Is this really normal practice for new laptops or did something go wrong?
