Can AI Replace Traditional Apartment Security?

Our building has an older security guard who, bless him, mostly just naps at the front desk and chats with tenants. He’s super sweet but probably not the most effective deterrent if something actually happened. Management is now testing an AI-based access control and surveillance system, and people are split — some like the tech, others miss the “human touch.” Is there a balance between the two?
