How to develop an MVP for a mobile app

Hey everyone! I’ve been brainstorming an idea for a mobile app that connects local artists to nearby venues. It’s a pretty simple concept, but I want to test it first without spending too much time or money on features people might not even care about. A friend told me that starting with an MVP (minimum viable product) would be the best way to go, but I’m still unsure how to approach it. What features should I focus on? And what’s the best way to figure out if users actually like the app? I tried Googling but there’s so much scattered info out there.
