Last year, I received a gift card for an electronics store for my birthday. At first, I was upset, thinking it was somehow impersonal. But then I realized that it was a great gift: I was able to buy something I had long wanted, and I chose the model myself on sale. Now I often give such cards to friends or colleagues when I don’t know what to choose. What do you think? Are gift cards really a universal option, or do some people consider them a bad gift?
