2D or 3D Characters – Which Style Ages Better Over Time?

I’ve been thinking about how some games still look amazing 10+ years later while others feel dated fast. A lot of that seems tied to whether the characters were designed in 2D or 3D. Pixel art and hand-drawn characters somehow feel timeless, while some early 3D games look really rough now.
